Hi all from UK
I am currently living in London and exhibiting in NY area in 6 weeks time. I am debating whether to ship my artwork or ship my art rolled up and complete it there with the help of some local help...

I am both an artist and a picture framer and have all the usual picture framing eqpt (underpinners, Morso, mount cutters etc) as well as a 44" Giclee printer and 43" Drytac cold laminator.

My work is mounted onto Dibond which I normally order cut to size and I normally frame the work I hope to exhibit in NY framed with Neilsen Aluminum moulding (which I generally order pre-cut in good volumes so I get a little discount).

At the moment I don't have access to a laminator in NY area, is there anyone on The Grumble in the area that could help? I am very happy to do the work myself, if need be I am happy to rent time in your workshop or possibly open to other ideas/offers.

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

You mention NY state, and later NY area.
Are you displaying in NYC, or somewhere else in the state?

Hi Brian
I am exhibiting in Brooklyn but willing to travel into the State, maybe 10 or 20 miles or more if I can find suitable car hire.

Thanks

Mike

Thanks for all your suggestions and I am now following them up but nothing confirmed yet.

Although I am a competent framer and just need a laminator, I have noticed there are many others attending the same event from all over the USA and Europe who are asking for a NY framer in the event's facebook group, if anybody wants the business let me know and I will post your details on the group, its a regular event held twice a year. I think many people would prefer to frame locally than to ship frames from afar.

Can anyone recomend a good supplier of cut to size Dibond that is relatively local to Brooklyn and how much should I expect to pay for a sheet? (in London I pay for the sheet and around $100 for cutting, that was for ten 8x4 sheets cut into a around 100 various shapes/sizes)
