Las Vegas flights/hotels-great rates

If anyone is thinking about staying at the Hilton, I suggest you call up and join the players club.

The past two years they offered 3 nights plus 2 buffet coupons per day for $139.00 or, 4 nights for $139.00 excluding the buffet coupons.

A $20.00 tip at the front counter can get you an upgrade. This is the room I got the past 2 years, same $139.00 price.

DAR! Too slow, seems to be gone. That's what I get fopr working :)

This is my Thank You post to Mary for mentioning Harrah's.

I've got a party of 4 and the money I'm going to save at Harrah's is well over $400. 4 plane tickets and 2 hotel rooms adds up fast.

Through Travelocity I took a $2000 trip and knocked it down to $1500 and some change. Any body ever had any troubles with airfare purchased through Travelocity???

Now to find a sitter for 3 kids who go to different schools...

You are very welcome! That is awesome. I have flown "package-deals" many times through different sites and never had a problem unless I wanted to change something after the fact.

Once I changed my flight times and had to deal with the airline, they had a charge for changing, but I had no problems. Once I wanted to add a day to the beginning of my rental car. THAT didn't happen, couldn't get anyone to help me on the phone, they said I had to do it online, but I didn't have internet. Rental company would rent me a car, but I had to bring it back the next day and turn it in, then get another for the reservations. We ended up in the hotel for the night, then at the agency in the morning.

Mary try promo code "2NTE20" not sure why, but one time, I got the 268 price and the next it filled in that promo code.

Seems a little like a roulette wheel. Must be Vegas! ;-)

Hum ... I still get $240.

That's Saturday check in, Thursday check out.

$206.98 USD

Which is a Thursday check-out.

I booked it first with the $240 #, then called them and said Harry got the better rate and they advertised on the site "best Rate" so what could they do?
They said just go book it and then call back and cancel the first booking. So, that's what I did.

Time of day? wait and check in the morning.

Sorry, brain-dead!

I signed up for the players club thing and my total is $195 + tax = $218.40!

I'm booked!!

I'm still $12 more ... oh, well. Close counts.

Don't know if it's the best it can be, but it was close enough for me.

$300 roundtrip on Southwest - one stop on the way out, nonstop on the way back.

I'm booked. Arriving Saturday - returning Thursday. (I'm too old for redeye flights)

See you there!

I just checked Southwest, and see that you got a great deal for $300.

Current price is about $372 r/t from Providence
Sat 6:20am 1 changeover @ mdw. Arriving LAS 11:30am $169 w/fees and baggage
Thu 8:30am Nonstop Arriving PVD 4:25pm $203 w/fees and baggage

They eliminated the NS flights that we usually use, but the one with 1 layover adds only an hour.

I think i'll hold out a bit more for a sale. Southwest has a $59 one way sale today, but it doesnt apply to this route.

Allegiant air and room at Harrahs sunday thru thursday $356. This may make it work for us. Also I just heard from a reliable source the Job Service may pay for training since our part of Montana is in such bad shape. I'm checking it out on Monday.

Just got 3 nights for $40 a night for my staff at Harrah's. Flight should be free due to frequent flier miles. We purchase as much of our supplies as we can with a Southwest affiliated card, and voila! Free flights!

Where's the "Like" button?

We'll have to have a Harrah's breakfast party.

Southwest is having their annual sale for the next 72 hours. I just booked nonstop flights to/from vegas for $125 each. The price varies, depending on the distance.

$35 0-450 miles
$65 451-1000 miles
$95 1001-1500 miles
$125 1501+ miles

These prices include taxes, fees, and up to 2 bags per person. It's a good opportunity, IMO, if you didn't book your tickets yet.

Mike

Also Air Tran has some amazingly low rates to LV, but I think it's only until 10/20. I couldn't do it because they didn't have non-stop, but for some of you it might work. Check it out.

Hey Mike -
Do you need a PROMO code for the Southwest sale?

I'm still getting the same rates that I got last week...

No I didn't need a promo code, but the offer did come in via email.

I also see it now on daily deal sites. You can click the link below to get it.

Southwest Airlines sale: 1-way fares from $35

Southwest Airlines discounts a selection of national 1-way fares with prices starting as low as $35. That's the best starting fare we've seen from Southwest Airlines since August. Travel is valid any day except Sunday. Blackout dates and additional taxes and fees apply. Book by October 20 for travel from November 30 through December 14, or from January 4 through February 15, 2012.
Of other interest, if you apply for their credit card and use it for this transaction, you'll get 2 free future flights and partial credit towards a third. The card has an annual fee after the first year, so use em up before that :)

This could get you $35-$125 flights for WCAF this year, and free flights for the 2012 WCAF.
Sign up for a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card from Chase and receive 50,000 Bonus Points after your first purchase. That's enough for two roundtrip flights for free and one of the best such offers we've seen from Chase. (It's valid for first-time Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards personal cardmembers only; allow six to eight weeks for the free Bonus Points to post to your Rapid Rewards account.) Cardmembers earn 2 Bonus Points for every $1 spent on Southwest Airlines purchases, Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental Partner purchases. Also, earn 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases. Additionally, you can earn 3,000 Bonus Points per year on your Cardmember
Best regards,
Mike

However, it takes about 6-8 weeks (they tell me) for the bonus miles to get posted to your new Rapid Rewards account. I am waiting for this to happen as we speak.

Also, go to waymorerewards.com/bonuspoints , listen to their little slide show and they will credit your Rapid Rewards account with 1000 points. This expires on 11/1, 2011.

Good catch!

I see there are Baltimore <-> Vegas non-stops available for $125, too. (for the current sale)

Harrah's rates seem to have gone down a little more. I just got four nights (1/29-2/2) for $137.99 taxes included on the Harrah's website. That's in just the basic room. Can be cancelled up to 72 hours before arrival if plans change.

booked

I booked reservations at Harrah's for 1/28-2/2/2012. Now I can start planning what classes to take. And I just took in two framing jobs that will pay for my hotel and registration for WCAF. It's a good feeling to have the flight/hotel pinned down this early for such a reasonable price.

Just a reminder: That SOUTHWEST ($35, $65, $95, or $125) flight sale ends today.

I'm Booked!

Well - today my Southwest flights were much cheaper, so I booked 'em.

$114 each way and $40 a night at Harrah's via Travelocity.

It's just under $1400 for 4 of us.

Thanks for the tips on Southwest, Mike. My bags fly free!

Another sale today:

Southwest Vacations: Up to $125 off Las Vegas Vacations

Southwest Airlines Vacations cuts $75 off a 3-Night Las Vegas Vacation via coupon code "LASUPTO125". The same coupon also takes $100 off a 4-Night Vacation, or $125 off a 5+ Night Vacation. It's the best such deal we've seen for these trips we've seen from Southwest Airlines Vacations this year. Additional taxes, fees, and blackout dates may apply. Book by November 24 for travel from November 5 through March 15, 2012.

They have yet another 1 day sale today if you haven't booked your airline tickets yet.

Direct/nonstop flights to/from Providence, RI to Vegas are $159 each way. (and this is their most expensive tier). They start at $59 if you are closer and range up to $159 for cyber monday (today.

Mike

Still haven't booked a hotel yet. Anyone going back to the Hilton?
Susan

Heavens NO!!!!!
The Hilton was an overpriced dump. The new location is mid strip and allows you a wide selection of hotels that range from under $30 a night to will over $300.

I agree that the casino at the Hilton left a lot to be desired. The hotel and rooms were very nice. At 139.00 for 3 nights (plus 2 buffet coupons each day), I'd say it was far from overpriced.

Yep, at that rate, but many others payed more then a $100 per night.

I paid the $139 for three nights which was fair. Harrahs has some great offerings but from reading the comments on Trip Advisor, I just don't know...I'm still waiting for something else enticing to come up. If anyone sees anything posted let us know. :icon21:

Treasure Island is running a good sale. You want to register with them to get the best deals.

Looks like my dates would run $413.12 plus the resort fee. Still think we'll stay with Harrah's, though.

You're right Dave, the WCAF rate was 95.00 a night.
The Hilton certainly wasn't worth that price.

I'd be leary about booking there, and I think WCAF got out at the right time. Allegedly, this property is in the process of Foreclosure.

Supposedly, the name is changing to "The Las Vegas Hotel". (LVH) Hilton sold the hotel in 1998 to an outside party, which was licensing use of the Hilton name. Hilton took their name back earlier this year, ending the licensing agreement as of December 2011. They've started taking "Hilton" off the building, and the changeover will be complete by January 3.

Ugh ... I never thought to look and make sure I got mine. Super ... something else to put on my "list" LOL.

Ugh ... I never thought to look and make sure I got mine. Super ... something else to put on my "list" LOL.

You probably did. Hilton was still 100% supportive and participating in promotions, even though it was licensed by a third party.

Mike

I agree, its never too early to make reservations. We've booked a direct round-trip flight to/from Tulsa on Southwest (around $220). And booked our hotel at Harrah's, which is just across the street from the Mirage. Harrah had internet rates starting at $70/Saturday night, $25/Sunday, $23/Monday-Thursday. But I just looked at the web special promos ($100/Sat, $39/Sun, $35/Mon-Thurs).....which still ain't bad. There's a street crossing directly in front of Harrah's (Margaritaville). TI (Treasure Island), next door to The Mirage, had internet prices start at $159/Sat and $69/Sun-Thurs. There's also a tram that connects TI to The Mirage.

I never use the "show rate" because it is always overpriced. Last year we had 2 people fly to vegas RT the day before the classes and fly out the last day of the show and it was only $460 with a Hilton room. Looks like it is about $200 more this year. I am going to risk waiting a couple of weeks to see if any holiday deals pop up.

No wonder I had such a dog of a time getting mu Hilton Honors points last year!

If you book at the "show" rate- that is why you had difficulty. If you read the T&C for Hhonors, you will see that convention rates are not applicable. Water under the bridge at this point, though if you book at any hotel for the WCAF and use a Hilton affiliated credit card, at least you will still get the credit card points :).

Weird, it took the code anyways. Maybe it didn't give me credit for it. Still that was a great price for 4 days at the Mirage, Non-Stop flights, 2 Buffets & Tax.

OK, had to use a different code

I usually book a package, the price is usually the best way to go. Try all the usual suspects ... travelocity, priceline, expedia ... If you find a really good price, BOOK IT!! Sometimes they can be gone in a matter of minutes.

See you in Vegas!!

In case you are still looking for digs ...

Bally's Deal.

I haven't really looked at this but at a glance it looked good!

I'm glad I waited. I just booked my air fare on Us Air, round trip, nonstop, $336.00 tax, tags, title & transfers. Of course bags are extra but not bad for the price of gas these days.

Thanks for posting, Mary. This one looks enticing! A meal at the Paris buffet everyday could be fun! :icon21:
Susan

I got Harrah's for an average of $52 a night. Staying Saturday through Tuesday night.

I'm driving to Vegas, about a 7 hour drive, so I figure I'll break even with gas vs. airfare. Plus, I don't have to sit practically in someone's lap for a couple hours. I love road trips :)
