Val, your message sounds like "Don't MAKE me pull this car over!" And what would have happened then? We never took the chance of finding out!

Ha! Ellen, I thought of that! And I also thought of "Don't MAKE me take my belt off!" He never had to.

"Don't MAKE me to go the basement!" I haven't had to...yet....but I will! Just TRY me!!

"Ooooh, She called you?? You better go pick up, or she'll go to the basement with it!!" What a reputation to have!

I called a total of 9 customers with that message last Saturday. Most , I hadn't heard from in several months, one, in over a year. Every single one ...finally...returned my call this week. (New thread following..."reasons") All but one has picked up ($$!), and he's sending a friend this week...we'll see. Don't MAKE me take it (6framed, 24 shrinkwrapped) to the basement!

    WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT SOONER??

I made same decisionabout november last year Val.
We cleared out all the "art" by christmas, and most of the prints by end of january.
we made over the dead space from stagnant art to ready made frames and ready cut mounts.

:faintthud: could not believe how much easier and more profitable life has become.

and how much i dont feel like doing this when I look at the walls now :vomit:

Kev, how did you "clear out" those prints? Previous owner tried a 50%-off- prints sale and nothing went. I'm planning to frame the really nice stuff for the gallery, but the rest? Suggestions? I'm looking at matches.....!

    In jest...

(In jest)... You could always give them to any of us that posted on the "Childhood Memories" post. I'm sure that the "problem" will just disappear... like smoke!

Val, before you light the matches, why don't you give 1 each to your best customers for FREE when they pick up their orders. Maybe, they will like it and decide to have you frame it. If not you were going to "burn" it anyhow. If they don't like it, they might pass it on along with a recommendation of a really great framer!

I lucked out a couple weeks ago...............had some water damage from restaurant next door. Darned it there wasn't a tube with some ugly art in it that got damaged. Not to mention an assortment of ones that I had always intended to take apart and redo. So sad.

    Hi Val,
we did a 50 percent off or FREE IF FRAMED promotion, and explained in very large letters that when they are gone they are gone, as it was a genuine stock clearance sale. Nothing more than a big sign in the window.

The free-if-framed clinched it for a lot of customers, everyone was happy, they got a great deal, we shifted the prints.... and got some nice new customers. Word of mouth played a good part in it I think.

That cleared about half of them pre-christmas. The rest we job-lotted on ebay, and im still clearing the last few now.
