Uh, -- my FBN doesn't have an article starting on page 10!! It is the end of an article on Bainbridge's support of Museum conservation efforts. And the following article on page 12 is about Wall Moulding. Couldn't find any Grumble quotes there.

I am wondering which issue you and Marc are reading??

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is with these magazines quoting the G?? It shows that there are a bunch of people paying attention to what we have to say here on this forum, IMHO.

So they don't credit each and every quote. So what?? The information is still out there. We Grumblers know where the information came from. Do we need an ego trip with each magazine that quotes something said here in the Grumble??

I don't have the magazine in the shop. I take my trade magazines home to read at night. (All 10 of them.)
This reference is in the article on Small Business helps or something like that. The Grumble is in great company... S.C.O.R.E., the Small Business Administration, the PPFA and many other agencies.

What really impressed me is that there are many forums out there connected to art and framing, however the Grumble was the only one listed. After checking many of them out, I know why. Even with all the Warped stuff that goes on here, this forum still has the most professional answers and attitudes any where around. Everyone is willing to help and no one is condensending about it. The Grumble is simply the best.

Oops -- was looking at February, Not March.

However, March ABN doesn't have page 18---but FBN does have the above referenced article on page 18.

Don't know what to comment on Grumbler's being quoted in mags. I have always been asked permission to quote my Hitchhiker posts for publication--but it's not a fully public forum. Just feels a little wierd not to be formally asked to reproduce my written words.

I'm not one for lots of internet regulation -- but this seems like the very kind of issue that get people angry and ends up in more laws and restrictions.

As I understand, HH is a private forum for members of PPFA. The G, on the other hand, is a public forum. I found it, for instance, while doing a search for 'framing supplies' way back a year ago.

There are many similar public forums on the 'net, from family geneaology to complaining about Best Buys. I have always thought that anything posted to a public forum ceases to be the property of the person that posts it.

On the plus side, I think the fact that Grumblers are being quoted, and that it has come to the attention of manufacturers, suppliers, etc, is a good thing. We all need to remember, however, that we don't know WHO is reading the G.
