I've ordered acrylic vitrines from Acrylics by Lois before, and plan to again. Am wanting to make a list of the main suppliers we might also use, and two that come to mind are Gemini Showcase Acrylics and Small Corp. Thinking of Museum acrylic, with no visible seams at the edges. Sure would be nice to have it almost invisible and scratch/static resistant. Who do you prefer to use? If there's anyone else who should be on our radar, feel free to pipe up.

No answer, but does that mean I have to call my glass model ship cases "vitrines" and my fillets "filets"? :D

No, but you do have to hold your pinky finger in the air while drinking tea. If it's any comfort, I've always called them acrylic display boxes. I just Googled for this, to learn the real name.

Now that you are comfortable wth the word "vitrine" and with holding out your pinky, practice saying this:
"I'm thinking of acquiring a new escutcheon for my plinth."
    Rick
