SPFG, Supreme Picture Framing God
Just returned from ArtExpo 2010 in New York. We had quite a presence in the exhibit hall with a 20X20 island, a 20' inline booth, two 20' walls on each side of the registration area and a 20' display wall right as you entered Pier 94 where the event took place. In addition right by the VIP lounge we had a Sauter grand piano with a custom painted design by Dean Loucks and concert pianists playing during the show hours.
Artists we displayed were:
JolinPol
Thomas Easley (Thomas worked with us in the booth meeting potentials clients and reinforcing gallery relationships)
Sergio Martinez
Bruce Langton
Victor Anufriev
Dean Loucks (Dean also worked the booth where we displayed his art)
The first two days were trade days for the galleries and the Saturday and Sunday the exhibits were open to the general public for retail sales. We sold a fair amount but not near what we had hoped for. Most exhibitors showed obvious disappointment with the show traffic.
Jane Seymour was directly across from us showing her heart art and although she had lots of traffic she appeared to not have many sales either. I introduced myself briefly on the third day of the show and commented to her how gracious she was with everyone that stopped by the booth and had pictures taken with her.
We did make quite a few new gallery contacts for placing the artists we represent so long term we should see good returns.
