Just got word from a reliable inside source that Museum Quality Discount Framing just completed successful negotiations on the purchase of the Beard's Frame Shop chain (based out of Portland, Oregon), in the northwest. This makes Museum Quality Discount Framing the 3rd largest retail frame shop operation in the U. S.

    That's an oxymoron.

Actually, the company's name is Museum Quality Framing. The "discount" was dropped in their name years ago.

Also, I believe that is a rumor. I understand that their is a partnership between the companies, not a take over.

There was no takeover; the companies merged. I work for Beard Frame Shops and the merger was effective last week. The merger makes it the 3rd largest in the U.S. (so I guess part of the rumor is true!).
