We are looking to purchase a computerised mount cutter, wondered if any one out there has any advice. We are based in the UK and looking at Valiani, Gunnar & Wizard. Also if anyone is looking to sell second hand we would look at that option too.

Tell us more about your operation so we can give you better advice.

Volume: high, medium or low? Would you be able to take in contract jobs?
Staff ability: will you have a single operator?
How much space do you have?
Do you have access to machines near you to do comparison shopping?

I'm based in UK and have a Valiani, it's fine but if I had my time over I'd get either of the other two you mention due to the support.

If you buy a Valiani it will be from a company called D&J Simons and the word "Computerised" or computer anything, is not a word you associate with them. They use independent engineers.

With both of the others the support is approximately 1.5 trillion times better and comes from the people you write the cheque out to. Regards actual machine performance and software, you get what you pay for; the Gunnar will be the most expensive.

Whenever I see the word trillion I have no idea how many noughts there are
So for anyone interested there are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
WOW 18

And as to importing second hand from USA, I doubt it when there are plenty for sale in UK and Europe
