I called Designer a moment ago about this, and customer service doesn't know what this means yet.
I should be getting a call later today.

On the humorous side, I wonder what the customer is going to say when they pick a 2" frame at 16x20 and get charged for 7 1/2 feet at $100 a foot. Isn't that just supposed to be 6 feet? :D

Not for a 2" frame. 7-1/2' would be accurate for that size at that width.

Oh, wait. I see what you did there.

Yeah, it's easy to explain to a customer in a shop, but on-line with no mention of the 8 times width extra calculation, there are going to be misunderstandings. Also, on-line no mention of 22k gold vs. metal leaf. I just received the email from Designer with an offer for samples of the new line. It appears that it is just an addition to their already existing on-line retail program. I'm happy enough with APF Munn, Regence, Goldleaf Framemakers (old LJ Concerto), etc.

They're selling wholesale to dealers and distributors. I hope they maintain product quality, as anyone paying that much for a closed corner frame will be particular.
