I've setup a GoFundMe campaign for our fellow picture framer Michele Tabor Kimbrough.

Her home and business sustained damage this past few days due to Hurricane Michael which has devastated millions of people in the south (United States).

Let's show our compassionate side and help a fellow group member and a fellow human being. Let's all help her feel better when things are not looking so sunny! We've all been there once or twice before.

    Let's all donate!!!

Thank you Megan Honick for this great idea. People are so loving and caring in this world and you are one of them. Thank you.

(I hope this is ok to post in this forum)

You're a good man for doing this, Mo.
I donated but I guess because I'm not on Facebook my statement and picture of my dogs doesn't come up.
I don't really care about that, I just want to thank you for helping.

Thanks for managing this Mo, and for posting it here. I've had the pleasure of talking with Michele a few times and I think she will be fine.
She's the kind that will go organize the whole community and make sure everyone else is taken care of and then deal with her own problems.
The money will be used well, so donating is a pleasure.

One would think that she has insurance to cover the loss of the business. I know I do.

    I just saw. Thank you.
I saw yours too. Thank you.
I would assume so too. Like I said in the link on GoFundMe, "We like to help Michele with some of her enormous expenses to repair her shop and her home. We know this won't be nearly enough but we like to show her that we stand by her and she can lean us. This is part financial support but mainly emotional support!"
Thank you all. I have been down before and know how it feels.

Not to sidetrack the point of this thread, but a little fyi:
Insurance will be a headache beyond the damage. I live in the hurricane zone in Florida, and my shop is also in that zone. We are required by the lending institutions to have a specific windstorm insurance in addition to our mercantile, property, and liability. I also have FEMA issued flood insurance on both properties. Michele's recovery will depend as much on what insurance the building's owner has, as it does her own. Storm related insurance deductibles are usually quite high. (Ir)responsible agencies will be pointing at each other as to which is covering the losses. Multiply that times the thousands of people affected by this storm and the usual government efficiencies.

My house was destroyed in a flood back in January. I can assure you that having insurance does not get you back to whole any time soon, if at all. I am still living in a hotel and fighting with the insurance company. They are liars and scammers. We had to involve a lawyer. There are a lot of upfront costs that have to be paid for before the insurance company will even consider reimbursing you, and even then it will be a fight. I guarantee that this fund is going to be a big help in her struggles.

Happy to help the fund to reach its goal.
Also if it helps, Michele, once you are back on you feet, and if you need software to help run your business. i-FRAMER help out with a 2 year subscription.
I know i-FRAMER has already helped others from cyclones, fire and theft. It certainly assists in making insurance claims, or those making them against you.
Good luck with the recovery and hope it goes quickly and smoothly.

Hi Mo. Curious to how this works. Does it have to reach the goal, or is a time limit? first experience with go fund me.

Mark, I replied to your same questions on Facebook already. I am not sure why you would not update my reply here.

You know how to reach me directly via Skype or Facebook. I do not use this platform too often so please contact me directly either on Facebook or the Facebook group the Underpinner.

I have made Michelle the full beneficiary of the funds, and she needs to open her email add her bank account and so on to get the money. She is fully aware of this. However, I suspect she has a whole bunch of other things in her mind at the moment as you can imagine.

You can contact Michele directly on Facebook to verify this information at this link:

Hi Mo, I was not asking again as I asked the question on here the other day. I assumed you were not on here very often which is why i asked on the underpinner today. Which you answered. Thankyou. You did not need to leave a reply here if you did not want to. All good though. Here is hoping Michele gets back to some normality soon.

Not sure why you tagged me Mo. I never asked wether or how Michele would receive the money, just wether it had to reach the goal. Either way Michele seems grateful. Well done for what was raised. hopefully she will receive some more soon to help.

It’s very easy to see if the goal has been reached. You’d just click the GoFundMe link in OP.

Thank you all who have contributed.

For sake of transparency, here is a screen shot that Michele Tabor Kimbrough was able to withdraw all the funds. Let's keep it going.
