I'm in Reading, Pa and I'm looking at almost 6 hours if Google maps is to be believed. I'm going to see if Mike (husband) wants to go since that long of a drive is more fun with company.

OK, I'm back from choir practice.

Before I left I asked Pat to book an hotel "How long for?" she asked - "For as long as it will take you to miss me" I said.

I see from my drop down that she has been trying to get me a work permit!

Where's Long Island, in relation to Albany?

A hop, skip, and jump John. Your wife has a wonderful sense of humor. You're going to love the commute. Does she have you working in Jersey as well?

Oh, BTW the hop et al is for a pilot learning to fly a tail dragger....

The thing will hop a bit, the heart will skip a beat, and it's so close from LI to Albany you'd better jump out before the Sopworth runs out of Petrol. (About the same as London to Leeds).

Speaking of Leeds, the blighters removed 85% of the armour from the Tower of London, and shipped it out to a new museum in Leeds. They had never had a problem in the Tower with rust and rot before, and now 3/4 of the host is in the change shop at any given time. Stupid blood polys.

Talking about the Tower of London, did you know they have actually locked up the Ravens to protect them from bird flu.?? True.
They do not want to risk the rumour coming true, if the ravens all catch bird flu and die off.!!
Now that is British superstition for you!
Sorry, just found my laptop has logged me in on Johns name, I'll be off, afore he finds out, and get on with his ironing!

You could fly into Hartford, Ct.(Bradley airport) and drive up with me. The airport is 20 minutes from my house, and there are lots of places to stay. It is a 2 hour drive to Saratoga Springs from where I live (according to Yahoo).
Just another option for you.

For all you young framers, the AARP discount at the Hampton Inn in Clifton Park was about $20 a night. Finally worth it to be well on the north side of 50. I'm booked, Dano.

Ah but the Hampton Inn at the airport is $100 dollars cheaper per night anyway.

Anyway, I don't qualify, being only forty - eleven and all!

Thanks Pamela,

Already booked at hotel at Albany airport, which suits, get off plane, go to sleep, wake up, find venue, ...... whatever ..... attend .... etc.

I know I'm going to find cheaper, faster, better before now and August, the best probably with 12 hours to spare. But now it's all done and dusted, bar a few clicks for the flight, which I know I can do at leisure.

BTW Pat didn't really book me in an hotel in Long Island, she was just trying to wind Paul up. She really believed the stripper bit!

Yes John, the Ravens are not only locked away safe, but the Warders in their infinate compassion for their keepees have gone and gotten them a few extras to play with. This brings the total of 6 to a safe and sexey 9... untill the play begins to pay off...

wow John AND Baer in Saratoga for a few days...this town will never be the same!

Quite a site with her laying on the tank, and feet flipped up over the turn signals for better aerodynamics.]

"You need a faster motorcycle. But don't get caught." :D

Steph dear, you may want to look into expanding your business to include a Bed & Breakfast!

And Edie is coming too? Great!!

Hey, you guys. We need to share Baer. He has to come to central Ohio, too. How does Columbus sound?
thumbsup.gif
Some day. Maybe?

Have fun at the festivities - and class, too. ;)

Come join us Jana....Framing Goddess is coming in from Ohio, maybe you can hitch a ride on her bike LOL

Steph,

I have to check on a couple of things before I can confirm that I am coming. Either way, sounds like a blast!!

I'll let you know

Elaine

OK, somebody remind me to book a room ASAP!

Not sure if I should stay Sunday night as well (judging by all the anticipated mayhem, maybe I should and then leave early Monday).

Saratoga is one of my favorite places to stop on the way to Vermont. It's a lovely town to stroll through, and has a spa that has these relaxing mineral baths. You might want to put in a reservation ahead of time. Great place to have a massage also. The building was constructed in the I believe the '30's and it is like going back in time. Steph you are so lucky to live near here!

Just now getting a chance to check back in, following horse emergency and discovery of dead freezer in the basement.

To answer your question, Baer, I am a mere 45 min. from Lake Geneva, WI, but have no clue where Lake Geneva, Minnisota is.

My aunt and uncle live approx. 90 min. from Nashville, in Sparta, hence my looking at that location as do-able. Plus, I'm anxious to meet Betty.

Slick is in a holding pattern right now. Had a bit of an emergency this past weekend, but he's fine now. My Reiki friend is coming Wed. morn. to meet him and check him out. I can't wait to hear what she comes up with.

Later, gator!

Paul get on the stick or I'll make you sleep with Baer!

See girls all it takes to get a man to get the job done is to scare him a little! Works everytime

Hah, you didn't scare me!

Baer and I will be drinking wine and exchanging stories till Monday morning....but I really need to sleep a bit to drive the 3+ hours back to work!

And if we don't sleep, I doubt anyone else in your house will... ;)

Hey! I'm a quiet guy! Just ask Steph; I can sneak up on ya. :D

But only the first phone call.... LOL

And I'm sure I'm going to pay BIG TIME for that one.

Annual? Hmmmmm Sounds like a PPFA chapter annual meeting/education weekend forming.

Steph, have you talked to Heather about her coming out and giving a PPFA proposal?

So, what's the latest confirmed count now??

Besides Baer and Steph (by default), we have Robo John, Ruth, Pamela, Duncan and I.

Upstaters: Roz, Elaine, Mar (any confirmed?)

Who else did I forget?

I think Steph was saying about 12 or so, and the PPFA hasn't even sent out an e-mail shout-out.

Holy Duponie Silk Batman, we gonna have us a <strike>party</strike> work session. :D

who could have ever guessed that this kind of thread could go 96 posts, with over a 2 months to go.

Everyone has been telling me I need a Visa, a new passport with fingerprints and all sorts to visit The States.THIS tells me I don't, because my passport was made after 1998 and has a digital photo and is machine-readable.

But I'm still ringing the passport office to double check!

Actually BAer PPFA did, they sent it to just NY members, in fact already got a confirmation based on that. I think I should see if she could do other chapters as well.

I have 15 confirmed and several maybes!

Actually 16 confirmed!
