MGF, Master Grumble Framer
Yes, we will have meetings to continue the wonderful work FACTS has been doing. Kirsten Megahan has arranged with Debbie Salmon to provide us meeting rooms at the WCAF show in January on Monday afternoon January 26th. Any framer who is there and would like to help with FACTS in any of the following committees, Tapes & Adhesives or Textiles or Foamboards this is the time to step forward. Norm is lining up manufacturers to also serve on the committees. If you have an interest or any special skill or knowledge to share please e-mail Norm at nboris@nbframing.com to volunteer. You can volunteer even if your not going to be in Las Vegas in January because there will be more meetings at the PPFA show, again in Las Vegas in February and more at the DECOR show in New York also in February.

I,(Nona Powers) am the framers representative for FACTS and the committee members I need will serve in an advisory capacity to help Kirsten, FACTS Executive Director, help us. The other members of my committee are also the heads of the Technical, The Education and The Marketing. I would like several framers who can meet once or twice a year at the shows. We will meet after the technical committee meets in Las Vegas on Monday, also at the PPFA show in Las Vegas and in New York. If you can serve on this committee or any of the technical committees, please respond to this e-mail, nonapowers@cox.net.

FACTS is a wonderful tool for framers. It gives us standards along with many other technical papers covering several subjects. It is invaluable for the growth of custom framing because it gives us a legal stance, help with questions about techniques and products, and is crucial for educating not just framers but also the public. Framers are the reason FACTS is available to everyone because they sent the money in that kept FACTS alive. Without framers, FACTS would not be here. We can't stop now, we have to stay involved and keep supporting FACTS. It doesn't take that much, a little time, not much money but a lot of passion. I know the passion is there, I've seen it over and over as I've talked to framers about preservation topics. The consensus is that framers don't really care, but we proved that statement wrong by raising so much money to keep FACTS alive. Don't let it slide away again. It's too valuable, please volunteer. I promise it won't be hours and hours of work. No one has the time for that and FACTS doesn't need that much to stay alive at this point. We are solid, but could be so much more. E-mail me to let me know when and where you can be and we'll let you now exact times and places.

Thank You

The FACTS Education Committee will meet at WCAF-Las Vegas

Monday morning, January 26, 2004,

7:30am to 8:30 am.

The meeting will probably be in one of the classrooms; room number to be announced later.

The Education Committee is responsible for educating framers about the FACTS concept, and how it can benefit all framers and the industry as a whole.

Classes start at 9:00 am, so we will be out in plenty of time for the day's activities.

If you would like to participate as a member of the Education Committee -- or if you just have suggestions to share in that regard, let me know. We need to have an accurate number of attendees, so a room of adequate size can be arranged.

Can't be sure, but I think someone is bringing a few Krispy Kremes left over from last year's meeting. :D
