Wow. I am definitely gonna have to stir up some **** around here more often.

Or post helpful framing advice.

Or make inane senseless posts on absolutely every topic so my number of posts will go up.

Or spell like hael.

Or something scandalous, remarkable, unforgettable.

Nah.

How about favorite new grumbler?
Favorite "old" grumbler?
Favorite "grumbler-ism"? Frankenthread, Kit started it, scrapbookin' ain't a word, etc.

Or make inane senseless posts on absolutely every topic so my number of posts will go up.
Hey! What are you saying, here?

There is no category for most prolific Grumbler because that is not a matter of opinion but I, for one, would rather see more of you here, Gumbogirl.

I am astouded that L-J has taken on the lead as the most picked-on vendor. It seems to me that, for every negative thing that's said about them, there are a couple of positives from diehard supporters.

When was the last time anybody said anything nice about LaMarche? Or Michaels? Or T***** K******?

If T***** K****** had kids how do you think he would market them?

Limited edition run of 500,000 ought to saturate the market.

Is that positive enough Ron?

I know... I don't think I've seen much on Larson Juhl...

Stick around, Angie. Or look around in the archives. There's tons.

hmmm.... I really regret putting the none of the above option in... the people who weren't on the nominees list should have been nominated!! But oh well.... If we don't know who they are they can't win sooo I guess that doesn't matter anyway!!

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING MY POLL!!!!!!!!

<font size=6 color=red><marquee>NEWSFLASH!!!!!</marquee></font>

"Four out of five doctors have chosen CharlesL as FUNNIER than <font size=1>Ron</font>, and, in a double-blind test, with control subjects, eight out of ten doctors have concluded that CharlesL is nicer than <font size=1>Wally (wfay)</font>. It was determined, after much research by the NSA, CIA, DIA and the FBI that <font size=1>Ron</font> gets all his funny stuff from the strange satellite he has rigged in his back yard. <font size=1>Wally</font>, it has been determined, is not nice to fluffy kittens."

<font size=1 color=blue>I hesitated to post these findings, but, in the interest of fairness, I felt I had no choice.</font>

Charles how delightfully funning but you are trying to SWAY THE VOTES AT THE VERY SCENE OF MY VOTING BOOTH !!!! Sorry Charles, but Are there any other nominees who would like to sway votes?? It would be the only fair thing for a lady to allow.

keep up the humor,
angie

I don't know which is scarier, the fact that FramerDave is in the Sexiest Male Gumbler poll, or that 7 people voted for him..

Ron, I just inserted a new category and voted for myself- "Most oblivious grumbler." I read this thread before the 4 page discussion of this!! Good grief. I really need to work less and grumble more. ;)

Re: the "most prolific posts" thing, the opinion comes in on whether the prolific posts are just someone who has lots to say about lots of topics (RON!) or (BAER!) - or if someone is just messing around? We've had a few culprits, I think.

I am going to read the last two months of threads and see what else I've missed. (NOT!)

Great job, Angie. I nominate you for favorite new grumbler!

Thanks that is really cool of you... I'll nominate you for the next poll... whenever it will be!! I'm thinking we should do this maybe once or twice a year... twice might be too much so I will have plenty of time to get to know everyone better for the next one.
Angie

I am very pleased to be in the running for "nicest Grumbler". Seems like an oxymoron with my name attached to it. Heck, I voted for Wally........I appreciate all those who think I am nice.

Just think, those 7 who chose to vote for "none of the above".....if only I had a chance to plead my case, it could have been a landslide.......(heavy sigh)

Well I see I'm rising to my usual level of influence - just enough to stir the waters, but not enough to rock the boat!

Betty

To whom it may concern:

Making new accounts to get extra votes is cheating :(

I see about 8 new accounts in the past few minutes, and just want you to know that your IP (internet address) is logged. Please don't do that.

The geek

yeah baby.......clearly why you have fully 80% of the vote for <strike>hottest</strike>most helpful geek!

hmmm... I see a new grumbler by the name of I am going to win.... I wonder who that might be!! and i wonder if it's related particularly to this poll!!!!!! I'm sure it is.... sneeky framers!

Mike, Suppose several registered Grumblers all live together, and share the same computer, thereby the same IP address? Is that not possible?

I agree with my esteemed colleague, Framer Dave, 'Vote early, and often'.

It's possible, but the logs identify the clones/dupes.

Just for the info of all: Making fake accounts eats up disk space and bloats the database, which framer may or may not appreciate. It also sort of invalidates the outcome. :(

So are you saying the dog, cat, bird, and even the rogue mosquito voted? j/k

GO VOTE I TELL YA!

Carry on!
Mike

I was thinking you had to be a True Grumbler (what, 25 posts?) before you could vote, but I see I was wrong. You have to be a True Grumbler to start a poll.

For the record, Ron's Tape Measure, Ron's Mat Maestro, the King and the Diva's half-dozen manifestations don't plan to vote.

Okay, maybe the Diva will. That's up to her.

Ron-I just went through this: you have to have 25 to be a grumbler, 50 to be a true grumbler, and 100 to be a certified grumbler, and I'm assuming you have to have 200 to be a certified grumbler II... I tried to make a poll a long time ago but it wouldn't let me cause I was tooo new! Anyway, I think the winners are starting to become very clear....

(read this very qickly like you are hearing a car race pronounced on the radio.... ehem..)

It's neck and neck here at the race tonight, two grumblers are very close to becoming the most informative grumbler, one is slightly in the lead but with a few more votest the other may sneak around to win, Whoa, look at the nicest grumblers, 4 of them are tied for first place! Poor little Angie Pearson is still trying to stay in the race, I think she's still too new for this game.. The grumbler currently with the best website (not including the none of the aboves!) better watch their back because one competitor is sneaking up to steal first place!! Also the most picked store is also very much neck and neck. Well stick around folks to see the results of this exciting race!!

I think there may be some confusion about the first category.

Cornel is NOT the Grumbler most likely to open a can of worms, though he is probably the one Most Likely To Dump the Can of Worms on the Dining Worms Table and Stir It Up.

Usually, the person opening the can of worms is not even aware that it's a can of worms until it's WAY too late to close the can back up again.

Really, I have always thought of Cornel as the Grumbler Most Likely to Knock the Hornets' Nest Out of the Tree at the Company Picnic.

I just don't see Bob Carter, JRB or Framerguy as being grumbly at all.

Gee, I thought Ron Eggers was a pretty name. How do you pronounce Mecianne anyway? Messy ann? Me chi ann? Mexi ann? Mee cee ann? It looks pretty when I see it written, but help me put a pronunciation with it, please.

Yeah, Ron, you are right. The most likely to open a can or worms would be a first time grumbler asking an innocent question.

jframe....it is pronounced like Michelle...except with an "anne" at the end instead of "elle". Mashann. But MessyAnn was a favorite for my classmates all throughout grade school.

Thanks, Mecianne, I was having one of those duh moments. It is a very pretty name, much prettier than Ron Eggers.

My fault, for Bob and JRB nominations, not sure who nommed Framerguy. Grumblie isn't the right word. I think the word I was looking for was gruff? or cranky? (but in a good way) They are all having to yell at us to wake us up and make us listen.......I meant it in a good way though.

Chances are they won't ever see this, right?

Another huge slight, and I mean <font size=10>huge</font size>......we missed Rebecca as most helpful with information......how did we do that?

Hold on there …..hold on…hold on

Thanks jframe.

Dermot, you should be so proud. Hope you can hang onto your lead!

Quote from Audrey, The Much Missed, on the second thread:

When Lance manages to find three wise MEN--and I'm not talking about sports statistics, barbecue, or "Top Gun" dialogue--I have no doubt that three wise women will have raised them.
The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.

I sure do miss Audrey and Cheryl. I may go to Boone/Blowing Rock on a <s>Cheryl</s> fact-finding mission toward the end of May!

In response to why certain people are in the poll: When I first got this idea, I thought the option of the voters being able to type in choices for the person they wanted to win would be there, but it wasn't so I had to have people nominate some people they thought would be good for certain sections...

If it would have worked as planned, I was just going to sneek it in in the middle of the night for all to see when they woke up the next morning... but this turned out to be much more fun anyway.

For all the nominees: as far as I could tell no one (with the exception of someone with two very close c's in there name) was nominated to be the blunt of negative humor.... so please do not be offended. This was done for the sake of humor and fun!!!!

Angie

Teeheehee....

That wasn't a criticism, Angie - it was morning-after regret.

We all had the opportunity to nominate anyone we wanted and, in some cases, we blew it.

Next month, when you do this again, we'll be better prepared.
