Have you met any framer who's never given his staff a pay raise?

I am my staff and I wish that I made the same today that I made three years ago.

Yes, I have. It was me and it was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. Economics drive raises - its not an "entitlement" If I gave a raise and then I couldn't afford to remain open, then where would you be????

My decision had nothing to do with my pay, because at that time, I wasn't getting paid. When I told my employee I couldn't give a raise and I explained it in detail, she went looking for another job. I layed her off based on my accountants recommendation and started taking a paycheck. She ended up working for less money and driving more than twice the distance to work.

Who shot themselves in the foot. In times like this, its better to work with your employer and get through it. The alternatives are not that great right now.

22Ben - If you found a better match for your skills...GOOD FOR YOU! You were in the wrong job to start with and you were probably wasting your employers time and money ;-)

my 2 cents...
