I have seen some great "dressed up" user profiles since the update. The problem is there are just so many grumblers and so little time! I would like to suggest that maybe other grumblers who have spent time spiffin' up their profile let everybody else know here on this thread so we all can go visit you and ooh and aaah over your pictures etc.

Whaddya think?:D

And then we have a contest & jury to select the best one and the winner can use this honor on their website and advertising?? And suddenly it's like Google, the Grumble profiles have rankings??

And then they're featured on Youtube and prime time media outlets??? And then the next step is movies and fame????:)

Cool!!

OK, OK, Nevermind. I was just trying to be friendly, not nosey or competitive. Sheesh:(

I logged in to see my own profile today on another computer, which was showing the G in a different skin (default) than I normally see (paper). Yuck! I didn't realize it looks a little different depending on which skin you are using...

I need some pictures....coming soon!

I'm usually a fan of DEFAULT but trying PAPER now. wow, how different it looks!

Holy Carp Batman!!!!!!

I went in there and found messages I think? Took a moment to respond to one, thought I went back to where I thought I was but the next thing I knew I was in someone elses profile.

Now I'm just dizzy and think I better read the instruction manual on this thing before I try it again. I feel like I just stepped out of the Twilight Zone.

I better lie down for a minute.

I'm working on it.

I'ved added a picture, changed my avatar and added a note for Val. I still don't have a lot of friends and no groups, but as I said I'm working on it. So if anyone wants to be my friend or a group needs a member let me know. :popc:

I added the first installment of the Chihuly pics on my page while waiting around for a customer who didn't want any "help" but kept asking me benign questions anyway. While I was hanging around at the counter, I started messing with this...pretty easy actually.

I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it. It's fun to see what others are doing.

Now I have something else to look at when I'm on the Grumble, which is good since I don't do political threads, environmental threads, Michael bashing threads, Larson is the evil one threads, free-or- not corner sample threads or anything to do with melting bumpons....

I don't like the words, "not interested". I simply do not have the time. I can't get my web site updated. I'm not even sure how to find profiles. Oh well, consider me a friend anyway.

Here we are winding down to the final day for voting.

Are there any grumbler profiles that you liked? Please share them here.

Questions about buddy lists, social groups, or profile customization?

Here's a kwestion, Mike - since there is a limit to the number of private messages and also a limit on the number of thumbnails allowed (thru the forum proper), is there also a limit to the number of photos in albums, or the number of albums? Also, is there a limit on size or number of messages on profile pages?

Are profile page messages deletable?

(sorry, that was more than one kwestion...)

Framer may have to answer these. I dont high enough access to look at those settings, to see how they are configured.

I would assume that there is a limit, but that you can erase the older stuff when that limit is reached.

For example: There's a limit for private messages. I reached it last month and had to erase a whole bunch of old ones to make room for more. (about 1000)

I finally gussied up my profile, I'm very happy with it. I had such a horrible reaction to my first random color choices. I hope all retinas have gone back to their original condition. Puhleeze check it out.

I also have a kwestion about visitor messaging. If you leave a message on someones page they need to click on that conversation and respond right? I was at first answering on my own page but then realized people would have to come back to my page to see it. I just thought it would be nice to make sure people are doing it right. They may be missing responses to their messages.

Also, how do the subscribed threads work? I see them when I go into User CP but they seem random and not always threads I have posted in.

Yikes - I never figured out the "private conversation" feature either - Kathy.

Too much stuff?!?

But now maybe we can all pull up our panties and sign up for MyFace or whatever. Join the Millennial Generation.....

45% YES
46% NO - But I plan to do so shortly
09% NO - I'm not interested

So here we are a month later. I assume most of the 46% have personalized their profiles, we can can get to know each other better.

What are some of your favorite grumbler profiles?

Thanks for participating!
Mike

A few "visitor messages" have been posted to my profile page, but I did not receive any sort of notification. Do we have to check our profile to learn about visitor messages?

Yes. It also shows them in the PRIVATE MESSAGES notification window. (up on top)

I added a new album! My Husband and I went on a mini vacation last week, and took a few pics:)

I finally figured out (I think) how to have a "conversation" with someone. I started out answering people on my own page, but the protocol is to click on their name and answer on their page, correct?...It takes me awhile to adjust to new things.....

It's taken me forever because I'm almost always interrupted if I get on the G, but I've been working on some albums. I really like these profile pages and I'm now in the habit of going there first, so I can see if someone has posted to a thread I"VE posted to!! All this time I never understood how the "subscribed threads" worked!! what a great tool.
No more completely forgetting about something I posted to a thread until someone e-mails me about it....yeah!

Thanks for the profile pages, they are really interesting.
