Holiday Tips for Delivery guys

Want to know, for the holidays do you generally tip the guys who deliver your mat boards and moulding and glass every week and if so how much? How about your fedex and ups peeps? How about the ones that only deliver once in a while?

I think the drivers should TIP us. Cause if it wasn;t for us they would not have a job.

Well, if I ever meet the driver who drops my stuff off 4 hours from my door.... I hope he has a tip for me :)

I will however be giving a gift to the shops that let me use them as a drop-off!

I usually give the guys $25 with a box of candy or something small. They have a hard job, and deal with a lot of ####.

I got 2x/week deliveries from LJ, and my drivers each got $50 from me. UPS also delivered regularly, but it wasn't always the same person. The one that delivered most frequently got a box of nice chocolates.

So the pizza guys, the UPS guy, the mail person, etc. should all tip us? Great, I think we just added a significant revenue stream.

We always give the warehouse something (buy them lunch, gift certs, etc) for everyone to split with our major suppliers.

They probably made more than a lot of us!

I tip the weekly DonMar guy $50. Nothing to the UPS or mailman.

I have as great holiday tip for delivery guys of all stripes. Lock your cabs.

Last week my local distributor's truck was flash-robbed in the 10-20 seconds he was bringing the stuff inside my shop.

And he was parked right out front.

Police figure some guys in a car were trailing him down the street (3 frame shops in 20 blocks) and determined his pattern, pulled up street-side as he was in the shop, dashed into his open cab and grabbed whatever they could find (his house and truck keys, wallet, and work order folder) and drove away, and neither of us could have seen this happening almost right before our eyes.

And here's another tip - no one should ever be carrying their social security card with them. Ever. These robbers have his SS number, his address, his car keys and could steal his truck from his driveway in the middle of the night. He canceled his credit cards but what can he do - change the locks on his house and his truck? Would insurance pay for that?

I feel bad for the guy.

We can tell them what my supplier did.Sorry but in this down economy I am making a donation in your name instead of the cookies we normally send.

I think I may just slip a twenty to that delivery guy who got his wallet stolen in front of my shop. He lugs in all of the glass, afterall.....

All i can afford - still have a massive stack of bills to pay from both November and December.

My guy, I love him, got fired last week. Don't know why, he has always been great to me and on time and always with a smile....

I am glad I gave him the cash, moreso now that he got fired.

I may have to start thinking about getting deliveries from a different supplier. You can't fire someone with young kids at XMas.

Well we do not have a single company that will deliver to us here in Cody, so this is a savings this time of year. The only delivery peple is UPS and Fedex, and this time of year we get a different UPS guy, so we give them a nice box a candy to keep their energy up.
