 Thanks for joining Paul,

Want to join Paul and others in LIFE? Are you wondering what LIFE is all about?

This really is all about self promotion of your Local Frame Shop. Hopefully as you promote yourself using LIFE we can build a brand that people will recognize when ever they see it. We encourage your creativity as you use LIFE in promoting your business. We will develop marketing ideas together as the program builds. We encourage you to share your ideas with other members.

You are also encouraged to invite others that you know to join as well. Some independent framers have a problem with the idea of cooperating with other local framers. I encourage you to think of it like this. Many car dealers will co-advertise together to get the reach and bang for the buck. The idea is to cooperate until you can get the customers in the door, and then you have a chance to impress them with your skills and selection. You first have to get them in the door.

The #1 objective of LIFE is to make consumers think of their LOCAL INDEPENDENT FRAMING EXPERT instead of the Big Box, Always On Sale (Never Really On Sale) framing stores.

I want to publicly thank, Terry Scidmore, a LIFE partner for her part in getting an article on the LIFE initiative published.

Terry, is a member of Evergreen Picture Framers Guild (EPFG) and also a LIFE partner. As such she brought LIFE to the attention of the Guild and they did a very nice half page + article on LIFE, in their June 2008 newsletter.

Australian Framer!

Welcome Mate,

Harold Brian Greenaway of Absolute Art Framing & Restoration

from Maryborough, Queensland, Australia

You can view Harold's website by going to
www.LocalIndependentFramingExpert.com

Harold and wife Fay had retired but just couldn't
keep away from framing. So he came out of
retirement and has opened a frame shop again.
Even at 79 yrs of age he has seen the need for
a web site. Way to go Harold and Fay!

This is from his "About Us" page.

Our business is special because I have spent more than half my
79 years doing this job and have developed many innovations.

Whenever our opposition has learned the new methods and designs
I do, I develop new ones to keep one step …. (or as many as I can)
…. ahead of the opposition which makes me a 'leader in my field'.

I am efficient and fast. My work has eye appeal. I believe that the
framing must support the object in highlighting colours, textures and
forms, not dominating them.

I support the natural-law and principle of dominance …. where only
one thing can be dominant and that must be in the picture, not the frame.

I make mats interesting with many little tricks to focus the eyes on the
picture and not allow them to wander away so that focus is maintained.

I strongly believe in firm décor principles, and if someone wants something
framed to fit a certain décor, then I'm the man!!!!

John, I noticed in the above post that there is a C symbol after your LIFE logo rather than the SM (service mark). Have you had the LIFE logo copyrighted?

Thanks for the clarification, John. I haven't been on the Grumble for almost a week (could it be that long???) and thought I missed something.
