Mat & Foam Board Supplies

Looking for a good online source for both Mat and Foam Board. So many out there. I’ve looked on Amazon as well but not sure of quality. Who would you recommend? Thanks. I’m new to all of this. Steve. Glass and Plexi as well?

Depends really how your set up is. Are you a business owner or a once in a while framer?
I order mostly from Larson Juhl, but you have to establish a business account and storefront.
If you just need some supplies once in a while, a friendly framer in your town might order for you. I sell supplies to those who want to do their own framing.

It is always a good idea to tell us exactly where you are, you business type (i.e. personal/hobby framer, store front, home based, amount of business). You may have some good suppliers in your area that other framers do not have access to. Some suppliers won't sell to personal/hobby framers. The more information you give the better we will be able to answer your questions.

Where in Maine are you? You should come to our NEPPPFA meeting in October. Meet framers, see vendor show.

If you find yourself in Gloucester, MA, feel free to drop in. I’m parttime at the moment, but my hours are on my website.
More than happy to share a bit of information, show you my setup and what worked or didn’t work for me.

I would be utterly shocked if the NEPPFA member nearest to you wouldn't make it easy for you to get foam, matboard, and other supplies in small quantities. They are some of the friendliest group of framers I have ever encountered and genuinely like helping other framers.

Most framers buy foam board by the case and always have it. Matboard might take a little planning since most framers are ordering from suppliers who deliver weekly.

Both matboard and foam board are pretty expensive to ship and require special handling in less than case quantities.
