Hi All, I am putting together a commemorative shadowbox for a retiring police officer and am stumped as to how I'm going to mount the tie clip. The trouble is that the clip on the back is pretty big and part of the mechanism is wider than the front. Ideally I would like to mount it on a bevelled piece of matboard to raise it up and sink the back of the clip into the bottom mat. Any ideas out there?

Cover the piece of matboard with a fabric similar to what the uniform tie would be. There might even be an existing fabric mat color that you'd have a scrap of. Clip the clip to that, and use a small piece of black FC to make a little hidden riser.
