Need help mounting a chip support on a Pistorius double miter saw.

Would anyone have any information on mounting a EMN30040 chip support on a Pistorius MN-200 double miter saw. There is no screw for mounting the breaker on the saw, so I’m assuming that I need to drill a hole in the saw to run a screw through to mount the chip breaker.

The front of our Pistorious has 2 holes drilled through it, one about an inch over the other, that have bolts going through them. These line up with the slot in the chip support.

If your Pistorious has no such holes, then you may have to drill them in order to add a chip support.

Does your machine have a chip breaker? We bought a second Pistorious a few years ago for cutting metal. It didn't have a chip breaker or chip support, and wasn't prepared to take either. For cutting metal it has been fine without either. It would take some work to modify with a slot to fit the chip breaker.

When they start to wear, or if you want to narrow the gap, automotive Bond-Do works well. I do it when I change blades (New blades teeth are wider than blades that have had multiple sharpening) to close the gap. We have had the same blocks for 17 years.
Fill the gap with Bond-Do and smooth evenly. When dry, make the first cut through a wide moulding to allow the blades to make a proper cut through the Bond-Do.
