Need Wizard design help - anyone up for a challenge?

I have been trying for the last several days to get this design into the wizard but not having any luck.

I have mat designer version: 5.3.1.1937.

My main problem is that when I group the openings I lose the little top strip on the bottom opening and I can't figure out how to get the top opening with its' bottom strip, to come out at all.

It seems like this would be simple, but it's not turning out that way.

This was originally cut by hand last year but now the customer needs 5 of them and I would really like to get this design in the wizard. If anyone can tell me how to get the openings to come out like this or make the design themselves and send me the .wzx file, that works too.

Pics are below with what mat should look like, and measurement sheet. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Donald

Donald,
Watch this video. This is how I create openings like yours in my wizard. Multiple openings overlapping each other then I group them together.

Thank you Troy. I had to watch it a few times but I can see where I was having issues.

Will work on this when I get back to the shop.

Thanks

Apparently I can't edit a previous post, so just wanted to say. Yeah!!!! Success!!!!!

Thank you Troy for the video. It was a life saver and it was actually pretty easy once I figured out that what you're really doing is basically taking out or putting in negative space, depending on your point of view.

thank you so much,

Donald

That's not a bug, its a feature. You have about 30 minutes or so to edit a post. After that it's permanent and will live in infamy forever until the unversed implodes into a black hole.
