CGF, Certified Grumble Framer
Hey Froptop,It might be time to frame that puppy.I hear that new framer at Bogframe does a great job.
Everything helps.Who becomes a framer after college?
Did it help? Seriously enquiring (from someone who didn't go to college)
Big boss is aware of the problem and tells me to "be patient, she's young". Fortunately, as Master Framer in this shop, nothing gets to the fitters without going through me, so if something strikes me as unkosher, I take whatever action I deem necessary. If I am unsure of what to do, I either look it up or come here and ask. Little girl is getting one more Saturday to either toe the line, or she's out of here. I'm sitting her down at this computer Saturday morning and having her read this entire thread and the one referenced earlier on.Where's the confusion here? Is Big Boss aware of this problem? There's an insubordination issue here. What good is a policy if it isn't adhered to? Whether or not the employee agrees with it, it's still policy. Does she understand that this is "policy" rather than your "opinion"? This goes beyond whether or not a diploma should be drymounted. That really isn't the issue, is it?
If Big Boss does the disciplining, I'd say it's time.
OK - if you click the blue arrow in the quote you can see it has been messed with, but it's the internet, and it definitely can be messed with.We have a new, young employee who is really great; respects my position as the end-all and be-all god of framing that I am, and never sells drymounting on her diploma orders. She always listens to my explanations as to why we don't do this, how refreshing.
I'll bet it's illegal just to READ this thread. Let me check. In fact at this stage it may be even illegal for you to delete this thread..............you could be seen as been complicit in what Seth is doing...........and has said......
In this shop, Master Framer=the only one with a certification, the only one who is capable of designing, cutting the mats, fitting, doing the conservation work, the only one who knows all of the machinery; both how to work it and how to maintain/repair it. I am the one who is responsible for training the employees, and solving any problems that crop up in any stage of the job. I am also the one who sets policy as to how to handle the artwork. I've also been framing for nigh on 28 years, reading Decor, PFM and the Grumble daily to keep abreast on any new developments in the field and keep my knowledge current. If that doesn't qualify me as this shop's Master Framer, what would?I have to say that if you call yourself the Master Framer...that is sad. If you need a title like this to impress people it is not working. There are people out there teaching classes to all us that don't use a title like that. I am sorry but this makes me sick. The couple of people that have used this title in the past that i have met are long winded stort tellers that usually are making mistakes like the rest of us. But we admit to not knowing every little detail.
I am done with this, I can't listen to type of junk
not in green
Thanks for the clear-up, my next guess was going to be Oregon. But I have and I have heard that Paris is back in jail AND doesn't have a cell mate.
And FG, the capitol is NC, not SD.
