What is the recommended mounting technique for this kind of cloth? Matting, glazing?
Thank you for your time.

How about lightly stitching it to a slightly larger piece of thrice-rinsed muslin and then wrapping that? I suppose because it's felt, you'd need to keep the pull gentle? Are these figures around 22" high?

I did not measure the art this times, i think 22 inches is about right. And one of the pieces is not square either - kind of a headache to do... Thank you for your suggestion. I was hoping i could use "Kool Tack" .

Every now and then, after someone leaves a complicated project, I like to have a little yell. "Why did she leave THIS with me?!! What does she think I AM?"
It makes my helpers laugh, because where else would they bring it. And it's often tourist art, where you don't know what the stuff was made from and how it will react.
Has a design been chosen yet?

It looks like multiple layers sewed together so any type of mounting will only mount the back layer not the top.
I've seen this with oriental silk things like this

No design yet, first i wanted to find out which is the best mounting technique, before i make a quote....

Personally, I would use a material behind it that would compliment the overall piece and then sew it down thru the backing layer of the piece or if no backing layer with color matched thread in as unconspicuous as possible places.
Minimal stitches only enough to hold it. No sewing machine work and no adhesive mounting. it makes the piece look flat and more than a bit uninteresting.
The unevenness of the fabric is part of its charm.. the ripples and little threads and such are what makes it more real.

Shayla's advice is best - baste the art to a larger piece of fabric and stretch that gently over a rigid backing board. Thrice-rinsed, pigmented-color fabric would be OK, and muslin is very good for the purpose.

Or, if you are allowed to cover the edges under a mat window, then a trampoline mount would also be good.

It could be mounted to Kool Tack E-2, but I suggest you avoid using any kind of adhesive on the textile art.
