3 out of 4 calls (or more) are robocalls at my shop. We have a basic phone (phone + answering machine).

Is there a system ("Press 1 for framing, press 2 for art") which I can get? I assume all robo-calls would be stopped by this.

I use Grasshopper and they allow you to do exactly that. It has cut down spam and robo calls to zero.

Does Grasshopper work with an existing number? Anyone calling my current number would be routed thru Grasshopper? Or only thru a new number? A new number would unfortunately be not practical for my purposes.

How does Phonetray work and how much does it cost snafu?

Yes on all your questions. You port your number and it then dials into "extensions".

I use Ooma, which screens known spammers. Voip.

I dunno about using a robo answering service to beat robo calls. I hate it when I ring an organisation and get the canned voice with the press this, press that litany. It depersonalises the whole experience and is not what I expect when calling a small business like a picture framer.

The only time I allowed my answering machine top pick up was when I wasn't there or was involved in a long consultation with a customer or rep.

Better I hang up (savagely) on a few robocalls than subject my customers to automated answering.

It's just an app that runs on my pc. I can block any number or range of numbers and play them any message I want.
It cost $29 no monthly fee plus a fax modem $36 if you don't have one.

That wouldn't work for me. Lots of the robocalls we get are (well, appear to be) from local exchanges.

Same here, I block them as they come in.

They just spoof the caller ID to make themselves appear local.

Yes, but the spoofed number can easily be blocked. Like today I had a couple of spoofed calls that were already on my blocked list.
