This older Seal vacuum press, made in the late 1980s, is very clean. It draws a strong vacuum and heats properly. It is in very good working order, except that the timer no longer works, so we've been using an egg timer.

I'm asking $1,000 and will consider reasonable offers. The press is located at my shop in central Ohio.

It's still here. If you need a mounting press, this could make your holiday framing a whole lot easier.

Our shop doesn't have room for two vacuum presses. I bought a newer one and we're tripping over this machine. No reasonable offer will be refused.

As hinted by the title of the thread, it is a Seal 4466 MHS and it will handle any size up to 40" x 60".

I just saw a bump in the night!!! :icon9:

Jim, I expected that your press would have been sold a couple of times over by now! Don't the newbies know what kind of press it is?? This older model has all the separate dials and settings that, when or if one breaks, you order just the offending item. The newer ones can have the same thing break and you have to order an entire electronic board costing many times as much as the older controls!!

I have the exact same model and I will use it until it dies a rightous death before I'll try to sell it. It has paid for itself so many times that I just couldn't part with it for any reason unless it just quit completely on me. The only thing that has gone South on it in 20 years are the lid pistons and they are just now losing their holding up power. But someone just recently posted a source for replacements for them so I am not the least bit worried if they go poof on me now. :)

Hello all. New member here... I have a question about a 4468 Seal Vacuum Press that I have. I was recently moving it and accidentally pulled the control box out of position, in effect causing a 1" flat gray wire to be pulled out of the circuit board. Does anyone have any idea who I should contact with respect to finding a replacement? I can't seem to find any info from the Seal website.

Here's a picture showing the wire that I'm in need of replacing. Thanks in advance for the help.

hey Jim what did that model look like back in the 80's

have you "pulled" the cover(very carefully) to see if it got pulled 'out' of a harness connection or if it actuall 'broke' the wires of the cable???? if former, plug it back,,,if latter you might take it to a 'good' computer repair joint and aee what they say about a replacement....might be forced to phone vacuseal/beinfang/elmers(or whomever they are today) and see what they say(must have model # of the plate)--dont be too surprised if they dont have replacement/solution(they want to sell you a new one!). if you strike out you may well be forced to take soldering iron in hand and do the dirty work yourself(or find a local 'old' electric fixit-guy)(but see if elmers has/will send schematics for your model(will help alot!) all else fails you could buy Jim's?

Parks, try a local electrician to reattach. If you have a friend who is an electrician it should run between a 12 pack and a case of beer.

Anyone looking at Jim's press should know that Jim maintains his equipment very well and in the past I bought his Pistorius saw (30 years old and working like a champ) and one of his mat cutters. I've known Jim personally for 20 years and his word is as good as gold in my book (I receive no compensation for this personal character reference).
