Time Magazine article "Plucky Little Competitors"

    I saw this article in the October 21, 2002 issue of Time. What do you think? I think it's great! It's very encouraging.

    Some of the stores, in addition to emphasizing customer service, seem to have a 'schtick.' Any ideas for frame shops? (Not that we need any, but it might be fun to think of some.)

    Read it here, or read it there, or read it in "Up Against the Wal-Marts." It's still good stuff!

    As for having a "schtick", that's what creates our "brand"!

    The link to the one in Time will only work for one more week or so.

    4 weeks from pub they are only avail to paid subscriptions to the online archive.

    That's why I copied and pasted.

    No surprises here. Better quality goods, better service seems to be the key, but isn't that we say all the time? I have said right along, don't worry about the discounters, and don't try to compete ith them. You do, you lose. And there it was, right under "survival of the fittest".
