Unselecting Photos

I'm still trying to get my computer's mind right after the last mandatory update. I got the SD card reader working again (the default program got changed), but now , when I go to import photos into the computer, it automatically selects all 454 photos on my card. I can't figure out how unselect everything and then select the ones I want to import.

My computer uses Windows 8.1.

Are you using File Explorer to read that SD card? You should be able to select and unselect photos for copying (and use CTRL click or SHIFT click shortcuts).
