Valiani CMC service

If you don't find anyone in your vicinity qualified to service your machine, The CMC Doctor may be a good alternative to genuine Valiani service.

But is that really necessary? Routine maintenance is easy for the operator to perform, such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of the roller pads. In nine years of owning a Valiani MatPro ix, we have never needed a service call, but there have bee several occasions when we needed help recalibrating after an upgrade, for example. If you subscribe to the annual tech support contract, the service technicians can probably diagnose your machine's problem, recommend a solution, ship you the parts, and talk you through the repair.

The only significant failure ever suffered on our machine was a stepper motor, which would have to be considered a major component. Chuck Terry diagnosed the trouble by phone from my description of the symptoms and a few tests. A new motor was shipped overnight, Chuck told me in detail how to install it, and we were back in full operation by the end of the following day.

Totally agree and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to do the routine maintenance. I subscribed to the annual tech support contract - I may or I may not have to contact them every year to correct an issue but its nice to get right to someone if you do have an problem.

I was able to contact the person who worked for Valiani in the past. This is the second time in eight years that he has done a tune up on my machine. MY CMC is an investment that I want to preserve. Just as I have car tuneups - I want to be able to service my CMC, but not for $2195.
I have never used CMC Doctors, but I appreciate the suggestion. I paid $200 for my service call - and it is worth every penny!
