I know many people will choose to stay at one of the hotels on The Strip, rather than at The Rio where WCAF is being held. The Rio is an older hotel, located a mile from The Strip, but it does have some cheap rates and offers a free shuttle bus service to the Strip. Both Expedia and Travelocity are showing rates as low as $79/nt, but you may find even lower rates if you book after the holidays.

If anyone knows of some other good hotel deals for the show, please post them.

The Rio no longer has the free Shuttle to the strip.

Ballys Hotel is almost the same price as the Rio for me. (even allowing for the resort fee. $59.00 per night plus fees.

Paul, the show organizers posted this deal for $99 a night plus tax. They won’t charge a resort fee if booked using their link:

Thanks, that's not bad. I just wish they would've kept the show on the Strip. The Rio is so isolated, and kind of seedy. It's also not what I would consider a walkable destination, but it is just a short Uber ride from the south end of the Strip. The rooms-suites are good size and the Rio has always been known to have a good buffet. The Rio, Circus Circus and the Stratosphere will usually waive the resort fee if you ask politely.

Hopefully this is a one year location. I thought Paris/Bally was a great venue and a wonderful location.

Wow, rooms at the Rio have dropped all the way to $29/nt. Be sure to ask politely for a Resort Fee waiver at checkin.

Does that work? They wouldn't do it at the Paris for me in the past.

You're right Mo, the Paris, and most other properties on The Strip won't budge an inch on anything. The Paris and The Rio however, are in totally different layers of the ecosystem.

Rooms at the Paris are above $200/nt for those same dates, but lower rates are usually available from consolidators. The Rio is as low as $29/nt. Link

I can't cancel my WCAF hotel reservation now, because the waiver of the resort fee is uncertain. If you and other have success this year, I might do it next year. But boy, that is too tempting, isn't it?
