I think TruVue’s corporate philosophy is “Hire the handicapped … they’re fun to watch”.

Not sure what you're referring to Dave. I know I have benefited from promotions in the past especially when they paired with LeWinter and I won a 47 inch flat screen last year.

Well ...one example:

I just got my rebate on the MG promotion with the letter dated December 19th. It included a coupon good for $ 25.00 off a case of 32X40 MG glass if purchased between Sept 15th and Dec 15th.

I need to buy some MG because I did use up a fair amount during my promotion but the coupon is useless to me.

I sincerely appreciate their promotions and have benefited from them but am amazed at how ineptly they are run.

Well at least you got your rebate. Mine has yet to arrive even after calling twice about it. I won the secret shopper challenge a year and a half ago, and it took six months to get my $75 check. I called about it they told me all the checks were lost in the mail. WTH??? They called me several months ago and asked if I would participate in yet another promotion -5$ for every piece of MG sold in a certain month. I sold a fair amount of it during the month and when they called to ask me to fax the forms in, I gave them a piece of my mind. I'll let you know if and when I get that check.

In addition in their original email and brochure the coupon was said to be a $ 75.00 coupon ...not a $ 25.00 coupon. Mute point I guess if it is sent out after the promotion period ended.

I did too ...that one ran well as far as I know.

Many folks here have complained that they can't get the glass displays. When I ordered them I got THREE SETS! The last 3 boxes that came in I refused shipment on so they went back.

I love TruVue for the most part but shake my head sometimes.

Well, I guess they like me better. We got the $75 check promptly, and the $5s for the upsell on Museum glass promotion.

Too bad they don't like the rest of you as well as they like me.... hehehehe

Did you get the coupon in time to use it???

Seems to me they should have mailed out the coupon when you signed up for the promotion.

Dave, I would call them and ask for a voucher, since you got it after the expiration date. Hold their feet to the fire!! I am going to call them again tommorrow for the third time and ask for my $25 rebate. My email from them did state $25, not $75, like yours. MG glass is on sale now, so I would like to use that rebate now to get a bigger discount.

Are you referring to the secret shopper or some other incentive?
The recent MG promo TruVue had this fall.

Pick a two week period. Document your MG jobs. Get $ 5.00 per job in the form of a check up to $ 100.00.

My $ 65.00 check came promptly and was mailed with a $ 25.00 coupon which had expired 4 days prior to the mailing. I didn't cheat although I could have easily and gotten a $ 100.00 check. Their verification system was an honor system.

I will give them a call today and report back.

I called again today inquiring about my $25 rebate check. I talked to Ed and he gave me a # to fax my forms again, and was told that they had not mailed out the check, but they will make good on it, and I should receive it within two weeks. I also will report back.

Late Rebate

We also received our checks for the $5 promotion. Our checks arrived on Tuesday, Jan 6. The letter explaining the rebate was dated December 19, and the envelope was stamped on December 29. The expiration date on the rebate is December 31. We're still sending in the rebate, along with copies of the envelope's postmarking. Fingers crossed we get the rebate.

I will say we had problems getting our information to Tru-View when the Museum glass promotion ended. Someone from Tru-View actually called to follow up on our success, and took the information over the phone for the checks. It's just annoying that the rebate arrives after the expiration date. Here's hoping they honor the rebates...

They don't run any promotions down here! I'm sure the reason must be that they know that we don't have too many billionaire customers that can afford MG.
The supplier says that they pay much more per pack than US framers do and that's why it's so expensive down here.

The latest price list came yesterday and a pack of 2 sheets 36" x 48" MG is $858.

How much of it would you guys sell if you had to pay that much for it!

That's a bit more than 4X what we pay.

Are the other TV products marked up that much or is it just Museum?

Are Aussie dollars about the same as US dollars?

Maybe they'll send you some Masterpiece glass?

...

We pay $290 if you buy 8 cases of TV glass.

Ormond mate, Are you sure you are not talkin pesos? wew! I thought we had it bad.

Its no wonder we charge more for our framing than our US cousins, on avg.!

Doug,
MG is marked up more than the other TV products, although the others are a lot higher than what you guys up there pay.

1 Aussie dollar is about 70 US cents at the moment. A$858 = US$607. Even when our dollar was close to the same as the US dollar, the price of TV glass remained the same.

They would probably want $857 for 'Masterpiece' glass down here!

HB,
We might be able to sell more than a sheet/year if it was about the same as what you pay for it!

I have asked questions of many people, including reps in USA and NZ and Aus and no-one has any explanation for the inflated price of MG down here. It's just way too hard to explain, apparently!

Shipping does not account for the difference!

We won last years secret shopper and we also participated in the $5 mg and we got the checks right away. I did question the $25. and the $75 mistake on there part. It was a typo. Nothing they would do about that. I recieved the rebate by email. Printed it out and had no problems with it. Good luck.

I've been happy. I can understand why that promotion didn't go over too well, though.

The best pairing yet had to be the one with Lifesaver. Remember getting free software and a whole year of free support?

The secret shopper museum glass promo worked for me, too.

I've got some really nice visual displays of their glazing.

I use their gloves and apron every day.

They're helpline is....well...helpful.

On top of that, they have a great product. They keep me loyal by treating me so good...

Oh, if everyone treated their customers this well....

My employee was informed about the secret shopper. She was all prepared for the secret shopper to come in. It happened that I was working at a time when she would normally be working, when the shopper came in. I sold the MG and won it. I gave the money to my employee when we received it. She thanked me for it and quit several months later.:smileyshot22:

Okay, let me see if I got this right. This refers to the $25 rebate. You sell MG during their promotion period, and mark it on the tally sheet. When the period is over with, you fax your sheets to Tru-Vue. They send a rebate form to your email. You fill out form and fax it back to them with a vendor invoice showing you had bought the MG. Then Tru Vue mails a $25 check to you? I did everything except receive the check. I refaxed everything a couple days ago, so we'll see if they come thru. I will have to say that they have been very good to me in other ways. I've gotten lots of neat things from them. Sure would like a new apron tho, mine is getting ragged. I have been bombarded with displays. Gave a couple away to competitors.
