Larry, Studio 26101 is indeed a very useful moulding. We are currently using the LJ Tribecca version 1.25" at a slightly better negotiated price without delivery charges. It is probably our number one. I'm not looking at the stats right now, but I'm sure number 2 is 433 Direct, a black 1" that is popular with some of our major accounts for smaller pieces. Our poster special mouldings are scanned in under ready made frames, so they don't come up on our top 10.

I used to check that from time to time when I used FullCalc. I'm afraid I don't know where to look for that info in Lifesaver. Help anybody?

Wow. Nice negotiating.

I am assuming that you are referring to Tribecca 372285. Since this is a publicly viewable forum I won't show the pricing but my box pricing for the LJ is more than double what I pay for the Studio. I go through about a box a month of the Studio and even including a $65 freight charge (if I order just one box and I never buy a single box), my per ft cost is still less than the free delivered cost for the LJ.

I do offer a couple of the Tribeccas; the ribbed 3/4" and 1 1/2" blacks (200285 and 370285) but they aren't in my top 8.

For Life Saver Web Reports I continually get "logins disabled, new and improved web reports coming soon" I have had that for over 6 months now, anyone else?

Gumby, I find it interesting that you have a 3-3/4" wide ornate gold in your top 8, let alone the fact that it's sandwiched between two metal mouldings! That's Fantastic!

Also, just curiosity, but are any of those in the top 8 because of a corporate account using the same moulding over and over?

Great 3.75" moulding Don't ya love it.
I subtracted out my commercial account moulding.

I am suprised more framers don't know their top selling mouldings

Are these top "dollar" sales? If that's the case my best seller is Abe Munn's AMIMP234C - 2 3/4" closed corner American Impressionist frame. Munn Frameworks 1" Louis XVI chops would be next.

Most footage:

Decor 8412
Decor 8446
Decor 8694
Decor 8446 and 8694 used to be on my best seller list but I had so many quality problems (warped, bent and damaged moulding) with them that I replaced them with studio 26101 and 26901. The final straw was a box so damaged and warped that less than 50% was usable. I was told that that is acceptable and to cut around it. Instead of cutting around it, I cut straight to studio and am glad I did.

I still use 8412. The only issues I have had with it are the filled in 'Worm' (??) holes.

Absolutely no problems with Decor mouldings. I have a very low tolerance level for moulding quality. The last 4 years 8412 has been consistently good.

Maybe I am lucky because I get truck delivery and don't have to deal with shipping.

Ditto.

I go through tons of the stuff and you can't beat the price when ordering at least 50'.

Others make it but no one sells it cheaper.

Maybe I just had a bad year with them. I also used tons of the stuff along with 8411 - the same frame at 1 1/2". I would use about a box a month of each of the three. I used it from 2001 to early 2008. The last year or so I had so many quality issues (cutting poorly - crumble wood and severe warping ) with these three frames that I switched to studio. Maybe they have gotten these frames better in the last two years.

On the other hand I use a lot of Decor 6314, 6315, 8335, 9592, 9593 and 9596 and have never had a problem with these. I did have a problem with 8410 for a while (crumblewood) but this one has gotten better.

Larry,

I view my relationship with Decor with that of a crazy girlfriend that you have broken up with multiple times.

Sometimes things are great and you couldn't ask for more, and then for no fault of your own, it turns sour and no matter what you try you know there is a better quality match out there for you.

(now happily married for almost 10 years)

I could very well post next week about the carp I got from them. Just give it time.
