I'm not sure you're succeeding, but more importantly I would suggest that is not a good tactic for someone who is trying to be perceived as a leader. If you expect people to take you seriously you can't react to every perceived jibe.

David, I've never had a problem with people who state their sincere disagreement with my ideas. I will defend those ideas vigorously, but healthy debate is fine. But when someone crosses the line, makes it personal, for example, all bets are off until the initiator ceases. That has always been my policy and it will continue.

Look back at the posts and you will confirm that what I am saying is true, with few exceptions where I was the one to light the match. When that has happened, I usually apologize unless there are special circumstances.

I am who I am. Someone needs to say the things that I've been saying, but I recognize that not everyone will agree with me. We've been failed by whatever leadership this industry has had. It's time for new, more pragmatic, thinking, whether it's from you, me, or someone else. The old way hasn't worked.

We can blame the AOSF's for thier substantial role, but we must also accept our share of the blame, stop buyring our heads in the sand and stop being afraid to compete. We're all in this together.

Yeah, I wasn't specific enough. The Crescent campaign was called "Reserved for you". Basically, they are reserving all the high end boards for us, the "pros".(their words not mine) I know Hobby Lobby sells Crescent and even though they feature the paper mats I know they use all the rag mats too, so, I guess there goes that theory from Crescent.

I am really surprised that Michael's is selling Crescent sports colors. Bainbridge actually makes custom mat colors exclusive to Michael's so I would think they would have done those.

Also, when I mention BB"s all my world knows is Michael's, Aaron Brothers, Jo-ann and Hobby Lobby. I see you guys mention Ben Franklin, AC Moore and others and I don't even know they exist. So, my comment of Bainbridge being exclusive to BB's only includes Michael's, Jo-ann and Aaron Brothers. I have no idea what the others sell.

    Mat frankenthread alert

The only literature that I have on Sport Team Colors is from Bainbridge. Maybe that's what M's is using.

I wasn't aware that Crescent had anything like that. Of course, it's impossible to get new corner samples from them. Why would I expect any promotional material?

Yeah, me too Maryann. I've never seen sports team colors from Crescent, only Bainbridge. But, somebody up thread commented that Crescent had gotten a piece of the Michael's pie with the sports team colors. I used to have a Crescent rep.

That was me Emibib, I still work for M's and our newest promotion was the new Sport's Team Colors from Crescent. I wish they would have stuck with Bainbridge, we use to carry only artcare from bainbridge. Now we carry mostly bainbridge but all the bainbridge mats that were close to any of the colors in the new sports teams mats they have done away with :( The cresent mats may be close, but close doesn't always cut it when someone is trying to match a piece done before.

I am sure they got some great deal from cresent to carry only a handfull of there mats and the rest bainbridge, I am all for change, but why not just add the new sports line and keep all the bainbridge? But I quit trying to figure them out along time ago!

We get our Crescent promo materials from LJ, and Bainbridge straight from Nielsen Bainbridge. I have a good rep who e-mails me immediately whenever I need something.

    Carry on...

Count me as one that hopes M's does use the Team sports color specifier

    It's not very good

    Speaking of Team Sports Specifer!

Since the sports specifier from Bainbridge leaves something to be desired, has anyone seen the one that (Home Depot, I think ) offers in their paint department. I've been meaning to stop by and pick one up and see how it compares. If it is accurate, at least it would be a labeled color reference to compare to mat samples and get close.
