20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Direct Moulding with squids and Turtles.
When I cut and joined the frame, I centered a turtle on each leg of the frame with turtles equal distance from the corners, no half-turtles in the corners...
The moulding was only available in Silver so we painted it black and added a turquoise wash.
Painted bevel on inner mat.

Gorgeous. Am I ever glad you're not a competitor. Just great work.

I almost blew it when I was joining the half red/silver - half blue/silver frame on the large Alice in Wonderland playing card.

The frame is 36" x 48" and it's a very glossy finish like the LJ taffy moulding.
I joined it in vises because I wanted perfect corners.
The finish is SO glossy that you can't touch it up, it's either perfect or it's not.

When I join frames in a vise or in the vnailer, I always go "long left, short right".
I started to join the 2 blue sides like that and then it dawned on me to look at the card in the other room.o_O
I realized that joining that way would put half of the blue and half of the red in the wrong position with the colors in the card.
I had only just started to glue the first corner and luckily I noticed that before I went ahead and joined and vnailed the frame.:p

Amazing!!! Tell me you used a Wizard for those specialty corners! Otherwise I'll feel inadequate foreverrrrrrrrrr!

Yes.
We have a Wizard 9000.

I lived in Chicago and started framing there in 1969.
We didn't have CMCs or vnailers back then in the stone age.

I was also a drag racer racing at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove Wisconsin at the same time.
I was also in a rock band that played at Northwestern U, University of Chicago Circle campus, clubs and many other places in Chicago, Evanston, bars and schools in Wisconsin as well.

I worked for a company called Frame Factory in Skokie and I later managed Frame Factory of Chicago.
The Frame Factory of Chicago location was at 760 W. Waveland, about half a mile from Wrigley Field.
They're still in business although the owner has passed and they are in a different location in Chicago and also in Lincolnwood.

I've been framing in Arizona since 1987 and I don't miss shoveling snow.;)

Yes.
Welcome to the Grumble.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I was a full-time framer for 2 years, and am just getting back into it after 3 years.
I thought I needed a "real office job" to be a "real adult" but I just missed it too much. I want my calluses back and to be around artists all day again! :p
