Is there anyone that could help me with this? It has a crazy story that goes with it but it was found in the relative of an American brigadier General who graduated College with an art degree. He was in charge of gathering up all the lost art from the war. Another Brigadier General from Scotland who was under him name and address is on the picture. It’s signed as if he painted it. It was sent to Scotland and then onto the United States later where it was recovered, I will attach pictures And any contact info if anyone’s willing to reach out and help me or get the full story in detail I know the frame is very heavy well constructed so I’m just not sure.

Welcome to the G. The pictures are a bit fuzzy and can't get zoomed into. (might be the format, jpg is usually better)

I am not quite sure what you are asking. Origin of painting? Artist? Frame?
Which name is on the picture (I don't see it)?

Such a crazy story but the first pic I’m posting here is the American. It was found hidden in the attic of his sister after she passed.. the 2nd pic is is the General from Scotland… At that time Scotland was divided into Henderson and Scotland. It was shipped to his address in Henderson then 2 years later shipped to the US. There is zero record of Bolton ever painting… but McCauley was an art major so he could have easily did it… I was just thinking it may be way easer to track the frame maker and go from there? Any help would be appreciated
