I need some help and some more information.. What kind of Japanese paper used for Wheat paste??? There are so many word term and different kind of Japanese paper and I don't know which one to chose from.

It all depends on the specific art being hinged, color size, weight, condition.
The primary concern is that lignin free fibers be used. Mulberry paper(kozo) is the first go to source. Think of the different paper names as "brand names" vs specific different types of papers.
A picture framer should have, in-stock, an assortment of papers from 6 to 35-40 grams/m2, in white and natural colors to meet their needs.

There are also several alternatives to a natural food starch, such a methyl-cellulose and Klucel.

Thank for the information. I should be more specific I plan using Japanese paper with wheat paste for hedgehog mounting.

There is not one paper that fits all needs. The paper weight of the art will determine what Japanese paper you would use for the hinging. A very thin paper, will get an even thinner hinge. The hinge should never be stronger than the art as it is meant to fail on impact (rather than ripping the art instead)

I recommend the sample book as well although it is a bit limited.

Depending on value of the art, I do use this as well:

Definitely not for everything of course.

Thanks for the information. I already check out talas online. I plan to use Japanese paper with wheat paste for hedgehog mounting on Large poster print. Most likely I will order Mulberry paper .

Hi, Bucknuckle. We buy mulberry paper from Hiromi paper. Great store.
