Address Book questions from resident Idiot

I remember dad had a Kaypro. He also bought several thousand dollars worth of Kaypro stock. I doubt I'll be retiring on that stock!

Jay…..

Kaypro were part of Non-Linear Systems who are still around perhaps those stocks are still have some value… http://www.nonlinearsystems.com/

I might be the son of a kajillionaire? I'll bet mom burned those stocks out of hatred for dad years ago. Isn't love grand?

Kaypro had difficulty continuing its early success, and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 1990. In June 1992, Kaypro filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and in 1995, its remaining assets were sold for $2.7 million.
Doesn't sound too promising, Jay. Don't quit your day job.

Both my Kaypros went into the dumpster years ago as part of a short-lived effort to tidy up. I kind of miss them.

Now I never throw ANYTHING out. I don't know why I even HAVE a dumpster.

Ohmygawd, David! How old ARE you??

To go back earlier than that, I have to talk about Fortran V and punch cards.

Ron,

While at UMass Amherst the only classes I could seem to pass were in the COINS Dept (yeah Computer Info Services). I was taking an overload, tutoring Jocks in Pascal, business Majors in COBOL and engineers in FORTRAN. I was so pathetic I would skip classes so I could sit in on FORTRAN seminars!

Ohno I can't believe I admitted that I took computer courses for fun, 20 plus years later I'm cutting mats who'd a thunk it!
